If so, Interac e-Transfer is fast, secure and convenient way for anyone with an email address or a mobile phone number and a Canadian bank account to send and receive money. The sender does not need to know the recipient’s institution or account information. Recipients are notified by email and/or a text message when a transfer has been sent, and participating financial institutions transfer the funds using established and secure banking procedures.
With Interac e-Transfer, all the following features are available on both the desk top and mobile web.

Interac eTransfer can be sent or received through email using a full sized website on a desktop or laptop computer, or through email and text messaging using a mobile browser on a smartphone.
Members should never share their personal or financial information with Interac e-Transfer recipients. A security question and answer ensure that only the intended recipient receives the money being transferred. With an Interac e-Transfer, all you need is the recipient’s email address or mobile phone number and the monies can be accessed immediately after the transfer is accepted.
You will also receive notification once the intended recipient has accepted the transfer. As a recipient, you will receive notification when the transfer is sent, indicating the amount as well as instructions for depositing it.
If you have not used Interac e-Transfer before, you will need to create a profile, and a recipient list. This is a one-time process. To do so, login to online banking and go to the Interac e-Transfer section.
